On first day as MLA,Chiru pledges to fight for people’s issues

I was thrilled, that was how Telugu mega star and Praja Rajyam Party founder Chiranjeevi described his experience on his first day as MLA.

“I was thrilled. The ambience was new to me. It’s a gift of the God and people. I rededicate myself to the service of people.”

That was how Telugu mega star and Praja Rajyam Party founder Chiranjeevi described his experience on his first day as MLA.

Clad in his trademark white shirt, black trousers and the party’s “kanduva” (cloth worn around the neck),Chiranjeevi arrived in the Assembly accompanied by his party legislators.

Chiranjeevi, who took oath in Telugu as member of the Assembly earlier in the day,was the cynosure of all eyes as leaders of all parties shook hands with him.

Lensmen and videographers scrambled to shoot him and even security personnel and others present in the Assembly premises tried to take a close glimpse.

“I was very excited and there were many big leaders around. All these days,I have seen Assembly proceedings on TV. It’s a great feeling to be a part of it myself. My life is dedicated to the service of people,” he said, when asked to describe his first thought on entering into the House.

To a query,he said being an MLA is different from the filmy roles. “You don’t have take I and take II here,” he said. He said his party would effectively raise people’s problems and function as an effective opposition.
