No going back on resignations: Telangana Congress leaders

Telangana Congress leaders deny retracting their resignations.

Congress leaders from Telangana asserted on Saturday that there was no question of retracting their resignations,tendered in support of the demand for a separate state.

“The status quo will continue as far as the resignations of MPs and state ministers are concerned,” MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy and MLA G.V. Ramana Reddy told reporters after the meeting of the Telangana Congress Steering Committee.

The committee announced a fresh round of agitation programmes beginning with protests in all assembly constituencies in the region,in which homage would be paid to those who had laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana state.

The Congress leaders would also stage a one-day hunger strike in Hyderabad on August 11,protesting the delay in the deletion of clause 14 (f) of the Presidential Order dealing with administrative recruitment.

They will hoist the ‘Telangana flag’ along with the Tricolour on the Independence Day.
