For the first time,two MI-17 choppers will be deployed for aerial surveillance of sensitive areas during the May seven Lok Sabha polling in Rajasthan,official sources said on Tuesday.
At least eight parliamentary constituencies– Dausa,Karauli-Dholpur,Tonk-Sawaimadhopur,Bharatpur,parts of Alwar and Jaipur-rural– have been identified as sensitive and vulnerable,the sources said.
While one chopper carrying Rapid Action Force personnel and CEC officials will monitor polling in Sawaimadhopur,Dausa and Karauli districts,the other will be deployed over southern areas of the state including Kota,Jhalawar,Baran,Banswara and Udaipur districts,they said.
Around 86,000 security personnel,including 147 teams of para-military force,100 companies of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary and 24,000 home guards have been deployed at 4701 polling booths in 25 Lok Sabha seats.
A video-grapher and a micro-observer will be stationed at 1670 polling booths,which have been identified as critical/hyper-sensitive,the sources said.
The inter-state borders along Haryana,Gujarat,Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have already been sealed.
