Industrial policy to be reintroduced: Arjun Munda

He said that Right to Information would be strengthened so that the people could see for themselves.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Thursday said that he would reintroduce the state’s industrial policy to make it investor friendly while tackling corruption and ensuring stability of his coalition government.

“The industrial policy will be re-introduced,making it industrial friendly as well as people friendly. I have asked the chief secretary to review MoUs and cancel the non-serious ones,” Munda said here in an exclusive interview.

Though he talked of re-introducing the industrial policy, the chief minister remained silent on the long-pending ArcelorMittal project in the state.

Munda said that he had proposed ad valorem royalty on coal during his previous term which he proposed to carry forward so that the state received enhanced royalty.

When asked that Jharkhand was known for its unstable political coalitions and how he planned to keep the present one going,he replied,”I believe things will move clearly through some guidelines. Once guidelines are set up,I think, there will be no ifs and buts in future.”

Asked how his government would be different,Munda said “there will be development oriented programmes and see how to put them on fast track with sincere effort and responsibility.”

On how he planned to tackle corruption,he replied “My effort will be to make the state corruption-free. We will ensure that all work is done in a transparent manner.”
