Implement PM’s package for Kasmiri pandits: JKMF to govt

JKMF demanded immediate implementation of PM's package for the community and said any further delay would loose the credibility of assurances by the govt.

Jammu and Kashmir Minority Forum (JKMF),an organization of displaced Kashmiri pandits,on Friday demanded immediate implementation of Prime Minister’s package for the community and said any further delay would loose the credibility of assurances by the government.

There is need to implement the package at the earliest to redress the problems of the displaced pandit community,Chairman of the forum P N Takoo told reporters here.

Already the schemes under this package for the community youth have been delayed raising doubts about the intentions of the government,he said, adding that further delay would loose the credibility of assurances by the government including the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

The forum has already appealed to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram regarding the enhancement of Rs 7.5 lakhs for return and rehabilitation of the migrant pandits,he said.

Takoo demanded the constitution of a board for welfare of Kashmiri pandits on the pattern of boards for other minorities in the state.
