Girls chase away Maoists in Gaya

A group of girls chased away four suspected Maoists who allegedly tried to disturb the flag hoisting ceremony at a state-run school at Maigra in Gaya district on the Independence Day,a senior police official said.

The girls intervened when four Maoists reached the school on motorcycles and raised anti-national slogans before showing disrespect to the flag,SP Daljit Singh said.

The men fired some gunshots while fleeing. No one was injured,he said.

Later,the girls brought out a procession against the Maoists in the village,he added.
