A major disaster was averted on Monday when a powerful bomb,kept by suspected ULFA militants,was recovered from a bus in lower Assam’s Nalbari district.
On a tip off,police recovered the improvised explosive devise (IED) kept in a bag under a seat of the long distance bus,plying along Guwahati-Nalbari route,at Borkura,on National Highway 31.
The bomb was first taken to an isolated place for the army bomb diffusal squad to defuse it,police said.
One person was picked up for interrogation.
