The official also said that the number of injured was 54 and not 30 as reported initially.

Of the 54 persons,30 were admitted to a Uluberia hospital and the seriously injured referred to hospitals in Kolkata.

Eleven of the deceased have been identified,he said.

Twenty one persons,including a woman and child,were killed on the spot when a private bus collided with a trailer in Howrah district on Sunday.

The bus,plying from Howrah to Gadiara,collided head-on with the trailer which suddenly veered to the wrong side of National Highway six near Mahisrekha bridge in the Uluberia area.
