4 BSF jawans injured in explosion near International Border in Jammu

Four Border Security Force jawans were injured in a blast on International Border in Samba district early.

Four Border Security Force jawans were injured in a blast on International Border in Samba district early on Saturday.

All the four injured jawans were immediately shifted to Samba district hospital where they are being treated,official sources said.

Sources said that the blast occurred when the BSF personnel were conducting patrolling along the International Border at Mangu Chak in Samba sector towards Heeranagar.

A BSF spokesman said that it is not yet clear whether it was mine blast,or an IED,which might have been planted by terrorists from across the border to target the BSF personnel.

He said that senior officials of the BSF have rushed to the spot to look into the incident and a combing operation in Mangu chak post and other posts along the IB has been undertaken.

However,if the blast is found to be an IED,the incident would be taken up for protest with Pakistan Rangers,the BSF spokesman said.

In the recent incident of the blast on the IB,a BSF DIG O P Tanwar was killed on November 16,and lager,top BSF officials had said that the DIG was killed in an IED blast,planted and triggered by militants from across the border.

Ever since,the IB in Samba has witnessed several incidents of firing from Pakistan soil,which have been protested by BSF officials.
