Indian Railways Round Trip Scheme: Indian Railways’ (IR) Round Trip Scheme aims at ensuring better utilisation of trains and facilitate hassle-free booking amid the upcoming festival season. Under this scheme, the passengers booking both onward and return journeys within the prescribed travel periods, will receive a rebate of 20 per cent on the base fare of return journey ticket only.

Here’s how you can book train ticket via IRCTC Rail Connect application under Round Trip Package:

Onward Ticket Booking via IRCTC Rail Connect Mobile App Under Round Trip Scheme

Onward journey dates: 13 Oct – 26 Oct 2025 (for trains originating from source station)

  • Open the IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app and tap on “Train” from the dashboard home page.
  • On the TRAIN page, tap the “Festival Round Trip” option.
  • The scheme details will be displayed along with a link to the Terms & Conditions. Please read all the information carefully and confirm to continue booking under this scheme.
  • Proceed to search for trains for the ONWARD journey only between 13th October 2025 and 26th October 2025. These dates refer to the train’s departure date from its originating station.
  • Search and select your train (excluding Flexi/Dynamic fare trains) along with class and proceed to book only if “CNF/Confirmed Availability” is shown for travel within the mentioned onward journey period.
  • Add the passenger details of those who will travel on both the onward and return journeys, as no modifications are allowed after the onward PNR is booked. Then tap on “Proceed to Pay”.
  • After successful payment, the onward journey PNR will be generated and the Booking Confirmation Page (i.e., ‘BOOKING DETAILS’) will be displayed, along with the “Book Return Journey (20% Discount)” / “Book Return Journey (Discounted)” option and the applicable Terms & Conditions link.

Return Ticket Booking via IRCTC Rail Connect Mobile App Under Round Trip Scheme

Return journey travel dates: 17 Nov – 1 Dec 2025 (for trains originating from source station)

  • Once the ONWARD journey is booked as per Step 1: Option 1: From the Booking Confirmation Page (BOOKING DETAILS), tap “Book Return Journey (20% Discount)” / “Book Return Journey (Discounted)” option to continue.
    Option 2: From the MY BOOKINGS section, tap the ONWARD journey PNR booked as per Step-1. The TICKET DETAILS page will open, displaying the “Book Return Journey (20% Discount)” / “Book Return Journey (Discounted)” button along with the applicable Terms & Conditions link. Tap the button to continue.
  • The scheme details will be displayed along with the Terms & Conditions link. Please review all the information carefully and confirm to proceed with booking under this scheme.
  • The source and destination stations for the return journey will be selected by default and not to be changed to avail the scheme.
  • Search for trains for the RETURN journey only between 17th November 2025 and 1st December 2025. These dates refer to the train’s start date from its originating station.
  • Upon selecting class, the discounted fare (i.e., 20% rebate on the base fare for the return journey) will be displayed.
  • Search and select your train (excluding Flexi/Dynamic fare trains) and class, and proceed to book only if “CNF/Confirmed Availability” is shown for travel within the return journey period mentioned above.
  • Review the passenger details exactly as in the onward journey booking. No modifications are to be made to avail the scheme. Review the journey details, discounted fare and then tap on “Proceed to Pay”.
  • After successful payment, the return journey PNR will be generated.
