Will win all 13 Lok Sabha seats: CM to Modi

Extending a warm welcome to Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Election Campaign Committee chief Narendra Modi on his visit to Punjab for the party’s Sankalp rally,Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday assured Modi that he will ensure that NDA wins all the 13 Lok Sabha seats

Extending a warm welcome to Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Election Campaign Committee chief Narendra Modi on his visit to Punjab for the party’s Sankalp rally,Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday assured Modi that he will ensure that NDA wins all the 13 Lok Sabha seats from the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Giving a call for a second ‘Jang-e-Azadi’ under Modi’s leadership,Badal slammed the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for allegedly failing to address issues like poverty, unemployment and corruption.

Labelling Congress as root of all ills and the UPA government led by it as directionless and weak,Badal said Modi will lead from the front to usher in change in the country.

While asking Modi to play a bigger role,he told the Gujarat CM: “Leave Gujarat and move to Delhi (to assume bigger role) to answer the prayers of millions and millions of countrymen.”

He added: “Gujarat loves you and even if you don’t go there for a while, they will still carry on with your agenda. I will go and request them to spare you for national duty in the larger interest of the country.”

In an apparent reference to JD(U)’s exit from NDA in the wake of Modi’s elevation,Badal said that SAD’s alliance with BJP was even “more sacred”.

“Our alliance with the BJP is even more sacred. Nobody even considers it necessary to ask us to comment on how the alliance is going. It is not just an alliance,it is an unbreakable emotional and social bond,” Badal said.

Claiming that though SAD was a staunch patriot,Badal said: “But in the past,we had been defamed as if we were terrorists. Many Hindus had fought on SAD tickets, while a number of Sikhs had fought on BJP tickets… SAD respected all religions — even a Muslim had fought on a SAD ticket.”
