The People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Singh Badal — the Congress-PPP-CPI candidate from Bathinda — described the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a circus tiger.
Addressing the rally in which Rahul Gandhi had come to support him. Manpreet without naming Modi said: “A few days back, there was a jalsa in Bathinda in which the main speaker was somebody that SAD refers to as the sher of India. But he is a circus ka sher as a person who throws Sikh farmers out of Gujarat cannot be called as the lion of India.”
“Shakal chahe mildi hove, bacha billi da kade sher nahi ho sakda, jangal vich sara saal rehan nal, giddar kade sher nahi ho sakda (Even if a kitten resembles a cub it cannot become a lion while similarly a jackal living in the jungle for a year can also not become a lion”.
Manpreet, who is contesting on the Congress symbol, also described himself as the saviour of Congress workers. “I am thankful to Rahul that he trusted me and I will be the saviour of Congress workers.. Manpreet will be standing in the front if anyone attacks Congress workers,” he said.
