The production of wheat is estimated to reach an all-time high of 112.01 million tonnes during the crop year 2023-24, shows data released by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Thursday. The Second Advance Estimates of Major Agricultural Crops (Kharif & Rabi Season) for the year 2023-24 shows that wheat output during the rabi 2023-24 is estimated to reach an all time high of 112.01 million, which 1.32 per cent higher than the 110.55 million tonnes figure recorded in 2022-23. In the crop year 2021-22 (July-June), the wheat production stood at 107.74 million tonnes. During 2023-24, the production of Rapeseed and Mustard is pegged at 12.69 million tonnes.
