Sharing the photo on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “A memorable selfie with my friend Nazim. I was impressed by the good work he’s doing. At the public meeting, he requested a selfie and was happy to meet him. My best wishes for his future endeavours”.

Nazim runs a honey business in the Valley. “I started on a very small-scale with just two boxes of honey. Slowly, I got opportunities to grow my business and got support through the PMEGP (Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme),” he told news agency ANI.

In a message to the youth, Nazim urged everyone to start small and continue from there without giving up. “I want to thank the entire administration for this event and then choosing me for an interaction with the Prime Minister. My message to those who want to start their businesses is to start small and nothing can stop you. There is no shortcut to success. You will have to work hard. When I started, there were only a few schemes, but now there are so many schemes from the government,” Nazim said.

“The Prime Minister asked me about my journey, he asked me some questions as well. Then I requested him for a selfie, and that moment was really joyful as the honourable prime minister agreed to take one,” he added.

During the event, PM Modi inaugurated multiple projects related to agriculture and tourism worth more than Rs 6,400 crore. This is his first visit to Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. He said that his government will continue working hard to win the hearts of people in the Valley.

Calling J&K the “head of India”, PM Modi added that the path to development here will “emerge from tourism possibilities” and the “empowerment of farmers”. “Developed Jammu and Kashmir is a priority for developed India,” the Prime Minister said.
