Stating that previous governments used to take a long time to conduct recruitments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the BJP government has provided almost 1.5 times more government jobs in its 10 years than the previous government during its decade-long rule.

Addressing a Rozgar Mela via videoconferencing, PM Modi said, “Today, more than 1 lakh youths have been given appointment letters for government jobs.”

“In earlier governments, it used to take a very long time from the issue of job advertisement to the issuance of appointment letters. Taking advantage of this delay, the game of bribery was also rampant during that time. We have now made the recruitment process in the Government of India completely transparent,” he said, criticizing the previous governments.

“Pehle ki sarkaar ne apne das saal me jitni sarkaari naukariyan di thi, usse lagbhag dedh guna jyada sarkari naukri BJP ki sarkaar ne apne 10 sal me di hain. (The BJP government has given almost one and a half times more government jobs in its 10 years than the previous government had given in its last 10 years),” he said.

PM Modi added, “Our government has made the recruitment process transparent. We try to finish the recruitment procedure within a set timeframe so that everyone gets an equal opportunity to showcase his capabilities.”

The government has allocated Rs 11 lakh crore as capital expenditure in the Interim Budget 2024-25 to increase the pace of development, he said.
