PM Modi on Congress, AAP: They communal, not I… will get X-ray of their assets

He took on the Congress, especially Rahul Gandhi who he calls the “Congress Shehzada”, and the “Khan Market gang ecosystem”. Deliberate attempts, he said, had been made to portray him as communal.

“Sometimes, the Shehzada ends up speaking the truth while spewing lies. Today, the Congress Shehzada accepted a major truth: that the system that evolved during the time of his grandmother, his father and mother was anti-Dalit, anti-pichchda and anti-Adivasi. Congress policies destroyed many generations of such communities,” he said.

“Every time Modi mentions Muslim, call it communal… Because I am exposing them, their ecosystem is screaming ‘Modi is doing Hindu-Muslim’… Before Independence, the Congress indulged in the same politics which preceded Partition… These people keep playing around with ‘Muslim’, ‘vote bank’, ‘vote jihad’ round the clock… They have destroyed the secular fabric of this country, they have stabbed the Constitution in the back,” he said.

Blaming the Opposition alliance for “cheating Dalits, pichchdas and Adivasis” on the issue of reservation, he accused the Congress of replacing caste-based reservation with a quota for minorities to “appease its votebank”.

He said when voters step out to exercise their franchise Saturday, they must choose between “Nation First” or “Family First”.

“For us, Nation First is the motto… Their single agenda is Family First. You can decide which government should be formed on the basis of just two words: whether you want Nation First or Family First,” he said, describing the INDIA bloc “a symbol of every evil spread across the country”.

“Three things are common and flow through the veins of everyone who is part of the INDI Alliance: They are ghor sampradayik, ghor jaativadi aur ghor parivarvadi (deeply communal, casteist and dynastic),” he said.

Describing the Congress move to “appease its votebank”, Modi said, “For 60 years, Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia… was functioning like a normal academic institution… Dalits, pichchdas and Adivasis used to get reservation. But in 2011, the Congress government pulled a trick… Jamia Millia was declared a minority institution and 50% reservation for Muslims was put in place.”

“I want to ask those who portray themselves as the messiahs of Dalits, Adivasis and pichchdas: What compulsion did you have that you snatched their rights, their reservation? These people want to do the same across the country. I want to tell my Dalit, Adivasi, OBC brothers, they are cheating you… In Karnataka, these people have snatched SC, ST, OBC quota and given it to Muslims… This politics of appeasement has gone beyond all limits,” he said.

INDIA bloc parties, he said, were “competing with each other” on “appeasement politics”.

“They say that Muslims have the first right to resources of the country, they are giving government land to the Waqf Board for votes… They want to ensure that bank loans, government tenders, entry for sports persons should be on religious lines. This is the height of vote bank politics,” he said.

“They are opposing the CAA for vote bank politics. They have settled infiltrators across the country to placate their vote bank… and are competing with each other when it comes to appeasement… this is why they have come together to form the INDI Alliance,” he said.

Targeting the Opposition parties, especially the AAP and the Congress, on the issue of corruption, Modi called them “kattar bhrashtacharis” (very corrupt), promised an “X-ray of their properties” and of “returning what they had looted” to those who had been victimised.

“Whether it is Jharkhand, West Bengal… everywhere, their corruption is being exposed. In Delhi, we are seeing what the ‘kattar bhrashtacharis’ are doing. These people did not leave any opportunity to loot the people of Delhi. Those who came to transform politics have cheated the people of Delhi,” he said.

“The people from INDI Alliance want to do an X-ray of the property of the poor and the middle class. So I too am giving a guarantee to the people of the country from Delhi: Modi will get the X-ray of the properties of these bhrashtacharis done… Whether it is proceeds of the excise scam or the National Herald scam, every penny will be recovered from the corrupt. Jisne loota hai, usse lautana bhi padega (Those who have looted will have to return it),” he said.
