
J&K Pahalgam Terror Attack News: Almost 12 days after the Pahalgam terror attack which killed 26 people, UN chief António Guterres condemned the attack and said targeting civilians is unacceptable and those responsible must be brought to justice through credible, lawful means. Commenting on the strained India-Pakistan ties, Guterres urged for maximum restraint and asked to step back from the brink.
The Union Home Ministry has ordered several states to conduct mock drills for civilians to protect themselves in case of ‘hostile attack’ on May 7, sources told PTI. The planned measures include the operationalisation of air raid warning sirens, training of civilians and students on protective civil defence protocols, implementation of crash blackout procedures, and early camouflaging of critical infrastructure and installations. Additionally, evacuation plans are to be updated and rehearsed to ensure swift and coordinated responses during emergencies, sources told PTI. The development comes amid tense situations in India and Pakistan in the wake of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22 in which at least 25 tourists and a local person were brutally killed.
Pakistani hackers claim cyber attack: Cyber security experts and security agencies are actively monitoring cyberspace to detect any cyber attacks after a handle on X claimed to have gained access to sensitive data from the Indian Military Engineering Service and Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis, officials told PTI.
