Govt to hold special discussion on Op Sindoor on Monday, urges Oppn to cooperate
Speaking to the media on Friday, Kiren Rijiju said the Opposition is not allowing the government to hold discussions on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday said despite the government trying to hold a discussion on Pahalgam attack and India’s response through Operation Sindoor, Opposition leaders are creating a ruckus inside Paliament and not allowing the House to function. He added that on Monday, the government will hold a special discussion on Operation Sindoor and requested all parties to cooperate.
Speaking to the media, Rijiju said, “Before the monsoon session began, several opposition parties, including the Congress, had requested that Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack should be discussed in Parliament. The government said we are ready to discuss it. The opposition has been creating a ruckus in Parliament from day one and protesting inside and outside Parliament and not allowing the House to function. In the first week of the monsoon session of Parliament, we have been able to pass only one bill… I urge all opposition parties not to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament.”
Rijiju also reminded the Opposition that it takes a great deal to prepare replies. “A lot of people are involved in preparing the replies. The officers prepare the replies by applying all resources. When the same is not allowed to be discussed or heard, it turns into a loss for the country, the citizens.”
Rijiju informed that in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held on Friday, it has been informed that the government will hold a special discussion in Parliament on the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor on Monday. “All parties have agreed that they will ensure a smooth functioning of the House from Monday. I hope the parties will stick to their commitment and we will be able to run the House properly,” he said.
