Nitish praises Vajpayee, brushes aside rumours of rift in Opp alliance

Amid speculation of JD (U) reopening its communication channel with BJP after not being given any key role in INDIA bloc, the JD (U) supremo said: “We have gathered here to pay tribute to Atal ji under whose prime ministership I had worked as a Union minister. He also played a key role in making me CM (in 2005).”

Asked about rumblings in the JD (U) and INDIA bloc, he said: “These days, some people speak to get some personal benefits but no one is going to gain anything from it.” Downplaying reports of being upset with INDIA bloc, he said: “I do not want anything for myself. My only attempt and wish is to work together (with allies).”
