Anurag Maloo, a resident of Kishangarh in Rajasthan, went missing while descending from Camp III of Mt. Annapurna. (Facebook/AnuragMaloo) Mountaineer Anurag Maloo’s health is relatively better as compared to when he was brought to Mediciti Hospital in Kathmandu five hours after he was rescued from Mount Annapurna on Friday following his fall from a 5,800-metre point, hospital sources said.
Maloo, who went missing on April 17 after falling into a crevasse, was located by a team of rescuers after days of intense search efforts. Sources said there are several queries from India and his family about the possibility of shifting him to Delhi.
His general condition, except urine output, is relatively better and his “brain condition” will be examined on Sunday, hospital sources said. “The ultimate decision about where he should be treated is something the family must take…we are doing our best,” a hospital source said.
Maloo, 34, had fallen 300 metres down an avalanche-prone crevasse, and was rescued by a team of eight on Friday.
Maloo was taken to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara and then shifted to Kathmandu after four hours of emergency treatment there.
