Meitei outfit Arambai Tenggol Friday supported the Manipur Government’s stance against illegal immigration. The development came a day after the state government issued an advisory alerting all district authorities to put in place a mechanism to prevent the entry of illegal immigrants. Arambai Tenggol Spokesperson Munindro said the organisation was committed to providing local insights and mobilising its resources to support the government’s efforts aimed at detecting and deporting illegal immigrants. “Our aim is to contribute meaningfully to create an environment where law and order prevail and the security and rights of every bona fide resident are protected. We place our profound trust in the leadership and commitment of both the central government and the state government of Manipur,” Munindro added. “Such decisive actions are indispensable for enhancing national prosperity, fostering inclusive development, and ensuring a secure future for generations to come. We encourage the government to pursue further initiatives with the same energy and unwavering resolve, for the greater good of our beloved nation,” the Arambai Tenggol spokesperson further said. The home department of Manipur had issued an advisory to district authorities on Thursday, warning about a possible influx of illegal migrants into the state in view of the prevailing situations in neighbouring countries. The deputy commissioners and superintendents of police were asked to maintain utmost vigil at the international, inter-state, and inter-district boundaries. The district authorities were also directed to set up a district-level task force comprising an officer of the additional SP rank, and representatives of central paramilitary forces like the Assam Rifles, among others, to curb illegal migration.
