Man,2 friends held for June double murder

On June 18,the body of a man,aged 26 years,had been found near Hidarpur water treatment plan. The police said there were injuries on his neck and stab marks on the face. The victim was subsequently identified as Abhay,a resident of Baljeet Nagar,who worked in the same chemist shop with Sonika.

“Since both cases were found to be linked,further investigation was conducted. We later found out that both the victims knew each other very well and Mahender Yadav and his friends were involved in their murder,” said the DCP. On sustained interrogation,the accused admitted that they were involved in the murder and disposal of the bodies.

It was found later that Yadav was Sonika’s neighbour and had helped her get the job at the chemist shop. He used to drop her to the shop everyday. Though he was married,the police said,Yadav developed a liking for Sonika and did not like her friendship with Abhay who worked in the same shop. “He was jealous of Abhay and did not like Sonika avoiding him. He hatched a plan to kill them both,” said the DCP.

Since Sonika and Abhay had both lost their job in the mean time and the girl had approached Yadav again for a job,he called them to a place on the pretext of introducing them to somebody in connection with a job,said the police. “The accused deliberately entered into an altercation with Abhay and then started beating him. Subsequently,they killed them both and dumped their bodies at two different places,” said the DCP.
