(Express file photo)A potential terror plot was foiled by security forces on Friday after a cache of arms and ammunition, including two M-series assault rifles, was seized from a hideout near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the police said according to a PTI report.
On the basis of a specific input, security forces launched a search operation in the Neeriyan Forest area. The police said the area is along the Line of Control in the Handwara area of the north Kashmir district.
A police officer said during the search operation, the security forces busted a major hideout which led to the recovery of the arms and ammunition, including, two M4 rifles with four magazines, two Chinese pistols with three magazines, two hand grenades, and some live rounds.
The officer added that a case has been registered and further investigation has been launched.
