Police-constable Janardan Singh is a proud father. His son, Anoop Kumar Singh, has been recently appointed as Superintendent of Police (North) in Lucknow, which means the station at which he works as constable comes under Kumar’s control.
“I feel proud to have my son as my senior. It’s an honour for me. It feels good to work under him,” Singh told news agency ANI.
Singh is posted at Vibhuti Khand police station in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar area.
SP Anoop Kumar underlined the distinction between the personal and professional aspects of life. “Everyone has a personal and professional life. We’ll work as expected of our posts,” he said.
The case bears an apparent resemblance to a father-daughter duo in Telangana where Deputy Commissioner of Police A R Umamaheswara Sarma feels proud to salute his daughter and senior officer Sindhu Sarma who serves as Superintendent of Police of Jagtiyal district.
The father-daughter duo came face to face, working together on duty at the public meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Kongara Kalan on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday.
“This is the first time we have come together while doing our duties. I am fortunate to work with her,” said Umamaheswara Sarma, who began his career as sub-inspector and was recently conferred the IPS rank told IANS.
