MP: Youth sentenced to life imprisonment for raping minor girl

The incident had occurred at Maina village on April 24 of this year.

A sessions court at Sehore sentenced a youth to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl.

Additional district judge Bhagwati Choudhary held Manglesh,22,guilty in the case and pronounced the verdict on him yesterday,prosecution sources said The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on the convict.

Manglesh had raped the seven-year-old girl on April 24 when she was returning after collecting mangoes from a farm at Maina village in the district,the sources said.

The victim informed about the offense to her parents,who filed a complaint with the police following which the youth was nabbed.

He was charged under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,2012,they added.
