Jat agitation rocks Haryana Assembly

As soon as the Speaker Kuldeep Sharma announced to take up a call attention notice,several members of INLD and BJP stood up from their benches and rushed into the well of the house and criticised the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Haryana government for “messing up” the issue of Jat agitation.

Referring to the death of a youth and injuries to several in Hisar after a clash took place between police and agitating Jats yesterday,members of opposition parties,including INLD and BJP resorted to slogan-shouting in the House to which Speaker objected and asked them to take their seats.

After giving repeated warnings,the Speaker first named eight members including Ram Pal Majra (INLD),Subhash Chaudhary (INLD),Abhay Chautala (INLD),Anil Vij (BJP),Jagdish (INLD),Krishan Lal Kamboj (INLD),Bishan Lal Saini (INLD)and Mohammed Iliyas (INLD) and asked the House marshals to take them out of the House for hampering the assembly proceedings.

After these eight members were taken out,the House proceedings were again disrupted when several opposition members again rushed into the well of the house after state parliamentary minister Randeep Singh Surjewala started giving statement on government¿s behalf over Jat row.

Surjewala was again interrupted by the opposition legislators.

As the Speaker started to name those legislators who were again stalling the proceedings,these members who were on their legs moved out before marshals could be called.

After this,Om Prakash Chautala,State INLD President Ashok Arora,party General Secretary Ajay Chautala,INLD leader Sher Singh Barshami reached the well of the house,demanding to speak on the issue and recalling of other members who had been ordered to leave the house.

An enraged Speaker even accused members of INLD for failing to maintain the dignity of the House and casting aspersion on the Chair and also demanded an apology from them.

“I am not going to be cowed down by any threat,” he said.
