Indigo Airways flight makes emergency landing as man suffers heart attack

A Delhi-bound Indigo Airways flight from Pune made an unscheduled landing here after a passenger onboard suffered a heart attack,official sources said today.

The passenger,identified as Rishipal Sharma (60),suffered heart attack mid-air following which permission was sought for making an unscheduled landing at the airport here around last midnight,they told PTI.

Subsequently,the plane was allowed to land and Sharma was given first aid and then rushed to a city hospital where he died,the sources said.

He was accompanied by his son Manoj,they said,adding that after a short halt,the plane took off for Delhi.

The deceased had gone to Pune to meet his son.

Thieves armed with chainsaws stole nine pieces of jewelry, including items belonging to Napoleon and Empress Joséphine, from the Louvre Museum.
