BCCI team to arrive to conduct probe into JKCA scam: Farooq

Abdullah ahs been under fire from Opposition in J-K in connection with the scam.

A BCCI team will arrive in a couple of days to probe and scrutinise records in connection with multicrore rupee scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association,its President Farooq Abdullah said today.

“BCCI has approved the team and it would arrive in J-K in one or two days and examine these books (accounts & records of JKCA) and we will know what had happened”,he told reporters here.

Abdullah,who was under fire from the opposition in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the scam,said “police are investigating the matter and auditors are on the job”.

“We had also written to the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) to appoint their auditors but they wanted to conduct an independent investigations of JKCA accounts”,he said and we welcomed it.

“We had suggested neutral auditors to verify the records. They (BCCI) said they will conduct audit themselves”,he said.

“The important thing is to hold the probe and find out what happened to money which came and how it was misapproated. I said stop all things till we know what has happened”,Abdullah said adding “the important thing is find where fraud took place and how fraud took place. Who managed to do this?”,the JKCA chief.

“When the trust was reposed in them,they have betrayed that trust of the people”,Abdullah said.
