Lalu Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap files divorce petition, six months within marrying Aishwarya Rai

Tej Pratap Yadav had tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai, daughter of former transport minister Chandrika Rai and the granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Rai, on May 12 this year.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son and former Bihar health minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai on May 12 this year, filed a divorce petition before a court Friday, according to PTI. Aishwarya is the daughter of former transport minister Chandrika Rai and the granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Rai.

“They couldn’t get along. An application under the Hindu Marriage Act was filed through me on behalf of Tej Pratap Yadav. I can’t say anything else at this moment,” ANI quoted Yashwant Kumar Sharma, Tej Pratap Yadav’s advocate as saying.

Tej Pratap had approached the court with a divorce petition a few days ago but it was turned down due to technical reasons. He again moved a fresh application on Friday which has been forwarded by the filing section for necessary action.

Rai along with her father visited the residence of former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi Friday evening at 10, Circular Road, Patna, but they refused to take questions from the media. The family were later joined by Tej Pratap’s sister and Rajya Sabha member Misa Bharti. However, none of the family members was available for comments, according to PTI.

Their marriage was attended by leaders cutting across party lines including Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar.
