Jammu and Kashmir: Two armymen including Lt Col injured in mine explosion in Nowshera

The injured were part of a patrol party moving along the LoC when they inadvertently stepped on an old mine, sources said. There are mines in areas along the LoC which were laid even during 1965 war, sources said.

A police official said they have taken cognizance of the photographs but refused to comment any further on the issue. Identifying the injured army officer as Lt Colonel Amish Badola, sources said the other one happened to be an army havildar. A lieutenant colonel was among two army men injured in a mine explosion near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir ‘s Nowshera sector on Sunday afternoon.

Identifying the injured army officer as Lt Colonel Amish Badola, sources said the other one happened to be an army havildar. Both the injured were rushed to Army’s Command Hospital at Udhampur, sources said, adding that their condition was stable.
