According to Railways pet travel rules, the dogs or cats accompanied by owners can be carried in First AC/First class only when entire 4 berth cabin or 2 berth coupe is allotted to a single PNR. Let’s know about IRCTC pet travel policy:

• The request for allotment of cabin/coupe against a PNR booked in First AC/First class can be made in the divisional railway manager office or General Manager office. Due consideration is given to such requests while allotting the cabin or coupe.
• Puppies/kittens which can be carried in a basket can be carried by owners in any class after payment of usual booking charges.

• Online ticket booking of Dogs/Cats can be done through IRCTC e-ticketing website for both e-tickets as well as counter tickets.
• Ticket booking of Dogs/Cats is allowed only after preparation of first chart and up to final chart is prepared.
• Payment of freight is done through SBI payment gateway, which is credited to the zonal railway of the source station.
• On successful ticket booking of Dogs/Cats, booking SMS is sent to the user’s mobile number and luggage ticket having details of the booked pets is sent to the user’s email id.

• Final chart also shows the entry of booked pets against the passenger in the hand held device of the TTE.
• No refund of the freight charges is admissible for luggage ticket booked for the Dogs/Cats upon PNR cancellation, and even in case of the train cancellation/ late running of the train.

IRCTC pet ticket booking online, IRCTC dogs/cats booking

Step 1: Open IRCTC e-ticketing website ( https://www.irctc.co.in ), click on “TRAINS” menu then click on “Dogs/Cats Booking” submenu.

Step 2: You will be redirected to the Indian Railway’s Parcel website (https://parcel.indianrail.gov.in/LTBook/). Your mobile number and email id will be recorded here to login on Railway’s Parcel website.

• Enter your mobile number and click on “Get OTP” button.
• Enter OTP received in your mobile number and fill captcha.
• Enter your Email ID and click on “Log In” button to go to the next screen.

Step 3: Eligibility for Dog/Cat booking will be checked here against your PNR number. If first chart is prepared and your PNR is found eligible, then option to select number of carrying pet Dog/Cat is displayed.

• Enter your PNR Number and click on submit button.
• PNR details will be displayed below.
• Select number of carrying pet Dog/Cat and provide any of yours ID card details then click on “Pay” button to proceed for payment.

Step 4: Review all the details provided and click on “Payment through SBI” button, you will be redirected to SBI for completing the required payment on the next screen.

Step 5: Select one of the desired payment option displayed on SBI payment screen e.g. click on UPI then select QR on the next screen displayed.

Step 6: Scan the QR code and complete the payment through any QR scanner available with you such as Bhim, Paytm, Phonepay etc.

Step 7: Upon successful payment, Dog/Cat booking confirmation page is displayed with Luggage Ticket Number. Luggage Ticket is emailed to your email id and a booking confirmation SMS is also sent to your mobile number.
