‘India wiping out Maoist terror’: PM Modi addresses rally, inaugurates new building in Chhattisgarh assembly

After the inauguration of the new building, PM Modi said that many leaders from Chhattisgarh played important role in drafting the Constitution under Babasaheb Ambedkar's leadership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in Raipur, and also addressed a public gathering highlighting the development in the state, as well as the the anti-terror operations.

“India moving towards wiping out Naxalism and Maoist terror,” said PM Modi, while lauding the efforts of the security forced carrying out operations.

After the inauguration of the new building, PM Modi said that many leaders from Chhattisgarh played important role in drafting the Constitution under Babasaheb Ambedkar’s leadership. Congratulating the people of Chhattisgarh on its statehood day, the Prime Minister said, “I pay homage Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose vision led to establishment of Chhattisgarh state 25 years ago.”

“India moving forward by taking heritage and development together; this sentiment evident in every policy and decision of government,” he said.

PM Modi also said that the sacred Sengol (sceptre) inspires Parliament and galleries of new Parliament connect the world to the legacy of India’s democracy.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in Raipur, prior to which he unveiled a statue of former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the premises of the newly-built assembly complex.

He was accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Charan Das Mahant.
