The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted extremely heavy rainfall across parts of India, especially at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa. Other parts of South India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will also witness light to moderate levels of rainfall today, according to the forecast. Other parts of India: Parts of East and Central India, including, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha are also likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall on Monday. In Northwest India, West Rajasthan and East Rajasthan, along with Uttarakhand will witness heavy rainfall over this week. Moreover, light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds will continue over North East India during the next seven days, the IMD forecast stated. Delhi weather forecast: The IMD has issued a 'yellow alert' for the national capital until Wednesday, forecasting light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50-60 kmph. The Capital experienced a warm start to the week on Monday, with the minimum temperature rising to 29 degrees Celsius, nine notches higher than Sunday, as per the IMD.
