Walia launches ‘Delhi Active,Daily Active’ campaign

A first of its kind year-long campaign to promote physical activity in Delhi.

Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and HRIDAY (Health Related Information Dissemination Amongst Youth) launched the capital’s first year- long campaign – “Delhi Active – Daily Active” (DADA) – to encourage the adoption of physical activity as a lifestyle practice.

The World Heart Federation (WHF) and European Healthy Stadia Network have partnered to take the spirit of DADA overseas and help create a health legacy at future sporting events.

The campaign will also be aligned with the UN International Year of Youth 2010-2011.

The “Delhi Active – Daily Active” campaign aims to instill the importance of regular physical activity in public consciousness. The campaign targets the citizens of Delhi,so that they take health into their own hands by simply being regular in doing some physical activity or by adopting a sports activity into their lifestyle.

Over the next one year,the DADA campaign will travel to HRIDAY’s network of 300 schools,their neighbourhood communities and 20 colleges with signature campaigns,rallies and competitions to make youth realize the importance of being physically active.
