Three injured in bear attacks in J-K

Three persons including two women were injured in two incidents of bear attacks.

Three persons including two women were injured in two incidents of bear attacks in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir,police said today.

Nasreena Begum and Shahjehan Begum were attacked and injured by a bear at Kowhar Bala in Chandoosa area of the district,they said.

Both the injured women were taken to the sub-district hospital,Chandoosa,where Nasreena Begum was referred to the district hospital in Baramulla.

In another incident,Abdul Hafiz Khan was attacked and injured by a bear at Kudpora in Chandoosa area,the police said.

Nearly 40 persons have been killed and hundreds of others injured in the past three years after being attacked by wild animals in the Kashmir Valley.
