The victim, who was flown to Goa,gave her statement for over five hours amid tight security. On Tuesday, she gave her statement to investigating officer Sunita Sawant in Mumbai.

Meanwhile,Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar dismissed Tejpal’s allegations that the BJP government in the state had “unleashed…wrath of vengeance against him”.

Addressing a press conference,Parrikar said,“I am not taking any additional interest in the case. The incident has not been done by the BJP government. After the incident, the email was not sent by the BJP government. The resignation letter for six months was not decided by the BJP government… He has himself admitted the crime.”

On the issue being politicised,he said,“Does Tejpal accept that he is a Congress stooge? Is he a Congress man? Let him accept that first.”
