"We asked in the Rajya Sabha what are the list of crimes committed by Sushma Swaraj. No one could say a thing because there was no crime, not even impropriety," Parikkar said.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has given a clean chit to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in connection with the Lalit Modi case and said that she has committed “no crime”.

Addressing party workers here last evening, Parrikar said Modi can be brought to India and punished.

“We asked in the Rajya Sabha what are the list of crimes committed by Sushma Swaraj. No one could say a thing because there was no crime, not even impropriety,” he said.

Swaraj was embroiled in a controversy for expediting the travel documents of scam-tainted former IPL chairman Lalit Modi, following which the opposition has been demanding her resignation.

“What she did was correct. You can bring Lalit Modi back and punish him or do whatever you want. But she has not violated law,” he said, adding that Swaraj is willing to say this in Parliament.

“But the Opposition does not want to hear that,” he added.

Meanwhile, Parikkar termed the current crisis in the Parliament is based on the wrong charges by the opposition.

“The entire chorus is based on the false allegations,” he said.
