BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj.
Even as the BJP maintained that it has sent a show-cause notice to Sakshi Maharaj for his controversial remarks, the Unnao MP said Tuesday that he did not get any notice from the party.
“I have no information about any notice. If the party has issued any notice, my office must have received it. I have no information… This is an internal matter of the BJP and it has nothing to do with the media. If I have said anything wrong, my party might have given a notice to me. I will reply to it,” a visibly irritated Maharaj said.

Sakshi Maharaj, who returned to the national capital Tuesday morning, faced a barrage of queries at the railway station from reporters on
the notice issued against him by BJP on Monday night. The controversial MP evaded the questions.
Disapproving of Sakshi Maharaj’s statement, BJP spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain said the party had nothing to do with it and explanation has been sought from him. “BJP has nothing to do with his statement. It is the right of parents to decide how many children they want. Nobody from outside should decide on their behalf… He has been issued a notice over this,” he told reporters in Patna. Asked about BJP’s views on population, he said they wanted that the population should be controlled in the interest of development.
The BJP, directed by party chief Amit Shah, has sent a show-cause notice to Maharaj asking him to explain why action should not be initiated against him for his controversial remarks in the recent past. He has been asked to respond within 10 days.
