Re-polling: SAD loses all seats

Though the SAD-BJP combine has swept the zila parishad and block samiti polls in Punjab,but the eight areas from where there were reports of booth capturing,resulting in re-polling,SAD has lost from all seats.

In Faridkot,SAD men had allegedly taken away two ballot boxes from a polling station in Malluka Patti. While one of these were found in the fields,the other is still missing. SAD,which was contesting against the BJP here,not only lost from the booth here but also the block samiti seat to BJPs Bohr Singh.

In Muktsars Rupana block,re-poll had taken place at booth numbers 138 and 139 after SAD workers allegedly fled with ballot boxes and reportedly indulged in fake voting. After the re-poll,Congress won from both the booths and also the Rupana block samiti seat.

In Fazilka,re-polling was ordered at two booths in Ojjanwali village after BJP supporters clashed with party rebel Nishan Singh,who was contesting as an Independent. The re-poll went in Nishans favour,who also defeated BJP candidate Harnek Singh in the block samiti elections.

Following Congress claims that BJP had tried to capture two booths in Churiwala Chisti in Fazilka,a re-poll was ordered at two booths. While Congress won the booths,BJP won seat of Churiwala Pakka Chisti.

In Mogas Indergarh zone,SAD workers had allegedly torn ballot papers and fled with a few ballot from booth number 130. Following a re-poll,Congress won the booth and the seat.

In Mann village at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badals Lambi constituency,largescale violence had allegedly led Congress workers to burn six vehicles after SAD men reportedly tried to capture the booth. Though Congress lost the booth,but the margin was very thin.
