The Panjab University on Wednesday extended the last date of enrolment for admissions to various courses including BSc sciences,BDS,UILS,among others.

The Panjab University (PU) on Wednesday extended the last date of enrolment for admissions to various courses including BSc sciences,BDS,UILS,among others. The decision follows a hunger strike by the students of Panjab University Students Union (PUSU) including its president Sukhjit Singh Brar,Mandeep Jawandha and Abhishek Mankotia. The party was supported by some students who anted to get enrolled but had failed as the last two days prior to April 24,which was the earlier last date for enrolment, were holidays.

PUSU president Brar said the last dates for enrolment were finally shifted with May 3 now the last date for the online submission of fees and May 5 the last day for online submission of forms. Jeewanjyot Singh Chahal, chairman of PUSU said: “The decision will bring much needed relief to the majority of students as many of them were not able to submit it earlier. Banks had remained closed on April 22 and 23 and the servers had been down on the last 3 days of submission of the forms”.
