After nearly a week long lull, Pakistani rangers resorted to small arms fire in R S Pura sector on Saturday morning. Sources said that a few shots of small arms fire came from across the border on BSF border out posts at Sangral and Mangral in R S Pura sector on the Indian side from 4.45 am to 6.45 am. However, there was no damage or casualty in firing on the Indian side. However, the mortar shelling by Pakistan on BSF positions and civilian population both along the international border and the Line of Control on the Indian side has stopped since last week. The last time on October 13, they had fired a few mortar shells on the Indian side at Arnia and Saujjian areas, sources said, adding that barring these two places, rest of the international border and the LoC in Jammu Kashmir has been peaceful for the last nearly a fortnight.
