‘Not one inch given to pvt developers’

Under attack for “favouring” Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra on land deals,Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Thursday hit out at INLD,accusing it acquiring inhabited land and releasing it to the private builders and their near and dear ones.

Under attack for “favouring” Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra on land deals,Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Thursday hit out at INLD,accusing it acquiring inhabited land and releasing it to the private builders and their near and dear ones.

“Not a single inch of land has been given to any developer by the Congress during my tenure. I challenge the opposition that if they prove me wrong,I will quit”,Hooda said.

“Land in the ownership of Pradeep Choudhary (now an INLD MLA) was released in November 12,1999 from acquisition after announcement of award on October 1,1999. Land was also released in favour of Jainendra Gurukul School,Panchkula vide letter dated June 11,2001 while the award was announced in September 2000,” Hooda said in Assembly.

He added that while the previous government paid a compensation of little over Rs 1 lakh for acquiring an acre of land in Panchkula,his government paid a compensation of Rs 35.63 lakh for the same.
