While the BJP in its election manifesto for Lok Sabha polls had promised to explore all possibilities within the framework of the Constitution to facilitate the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after coming to power, the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) on Friday said that Narendra Modi government should be given more time to take steps for construction of Ram Temple.
Addressing media persons after inauguration of three-day meet of RSS’s all India working committee in Lucknow, RSS Sah Sarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosabale said that Ram Temple agenda is the interest of country but there is no need for RSS to ask BJP to construct Ram Temple because that BJP had promised for Ram temple in its election manifesto.
“The Central government has time till 2019 and there is need to do those things first which are related with daily life of people. The government has five years and it should decide its priorities itself. People should give time to the government on this issue,” Hosabale said.
Hosabale also said that RSS has already promised to support the steps that Dharmacharya (seers) and Vidhwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will take for welfare of Hindu society and Temple (Ram temple). Hosabale said that RSS does not decide the programmes of the government or BJP and BJP national president could better speak about it. Shah too attended the first day of the RSS meet on Friday.
Interestingly, the Identity Cards issued to all the RSS volunteers in the meet has photographs of lord Ram, temples and Saryu river of Ayodhya.
Hosabale also commented that opinion among public regarding RSS’s stand for Muslims has been made by media.
Hosabale also said that it was good to listen that society and media were discussing Love Jihad now. He said that it was RSS that raised the issue of Love Jihad and brought that before society in past 10 years. When asked if Love Jihad issue could be discussed at the meet, Hosabale said, “We are already working on this issue from long time. If any member will raise that issue during three-day meet, we will discuss that.”

RSS also expressed satisfaction over the stand of Modi government against Pakistan on violation of ceasefire at the border. “I have visited some villages of Jammu and Kashmir and people there are praising the government’s strong reply to Pakistan’s attack,” he said.
He told that the meeting was started today with paying homage to army men and civilians who lost life in recent firing by Pakistani troops at the borders. He said that grief was expressed over the deaths occurred in floods in Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and recently at coastal areas of Andra Pradesh. Hosabale said that RSS will draft a work plan to rehabilitate the affected people.
