PM Modi to arrive at 12.30 pm in Srinagar; media likely to be kept away

Security has been tightened across the Srinagar city. Barricades have been put at various places in the city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Srinagar airport at 12.30 pm today.

After landing in Srinagar, Modi will take a chopper to Raj Bhavan where he would meet several delegations during his stay.

The media is likely to be kept away from Modi. “Due to security reasons cited by the State government media will not be allowed today,” BJP’s media Incharge Altaf Thakur told The Indian Express. However, the sources in government say that Prime Minister Modi doesn’t want to interact with media.

Workers of The Bhartiya Janta Party will assemble at Sher-i-Kashmir Park at 11.00 am today from where they will try to move towards Raj Bhavan to welcome the Prime Minister.

“BJP Kashmir have organise welcome really in respect of PM Modi’s visit to Kashmir today and it starts from Sher-i-Kashmiri Park at 12 noon,” Altaf said.

Security has been tightened across the Srinagar city.  Barricades have been put at various places in the city.

There is a shutdown call by separatist leader and Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani against the visit of PM Modi to valley today.
