Minorities panel,Cong ‘colluding to defame SAD’

In a statement,SAD Spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said: “It is ironical to see that an official letter of the member of a constitutional body is being released by the Congress to substantiate its political viewpoint. The the way the letter has been released along with a Congress press note has proved that the member is working as a member of the minority cell of the Congress,instead of a member of the National Commission for Minorities.”

Expressing serious concern over the misuse of the constitutional bodies by the Congress for its political gains,Cheema said: “It was surprising to see that the honourable member has visited Gujarat a year after the incident. By this time,the Gujarat High Court had already set aside the decision of the department and the matter is now pending in the Supreme Court.”

He added: “One fails to understand that instead of writing to the Gujarat government or to the Centre,the member is writing a letter to the Punjab chief minister,who has no jurisdiction over the place of occurrence…”
