Migrants body demands CBI probe into missing Kashmiri youth

Sushil Raina of Chandergam in J & K went missing from his village a month ago.

The All Parties Migrants Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) on Saturday demanded a CBI probe into the missing of a Kashmiri youth from his village in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Sushil Raina of Chandergam in J & K went missing from his village a month ago. As his whereabouts are not known,we demand a CBI probe into his disappearance,” APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit told a news conference.

Pandit said the APMCC had already urged the Omar Abdullah government to set up a special investigation team to trace Raina, who,Pandit claimed, stayed at Chandergam for nearly two decades.

Pandit was here to announce dates of the third annual yatra of ‘Harmukt Ganga (Ganbal) Yatra’,2011.

“The yatra will start on June 24 from Jammu and the return journey from Naraan Naag is scheduled on June 29,” he said in a release distributed to reporters.

Demanding removal of alleged encroachers of about 650 temple land and their renovation in the Kashmir valley by the J & K government and the Centre,Pandit claimed that about 200 temples had been vandalised in two decades of militancy.

Asked why he chose Ranchi to announce the dates for the ‘yatra’,Pandit said the people of J&K have got support from all over the country “and I invite the people of this part of the country to participate in the yatra”.
