Metro services on the Dwarka- Noida line were affected for over 30 minutes on Saturday due to a technical problem leaving hundreds of office-goers and college students stranded at various stations.
While train services between Noida and Janakpuri stations were normal, only one line was operational between Janakpuri and Dwarka Sec-9 due to some electrification problems,Delhi Metro officials said.
“There was some delays in the morning since the trains were run on a single line from Janakpuri to Dwarka Sec-9. The delay was due to a electrification problem on the other line between the two stations,” they said, adding that the services were restored in “some time”.
Agitated over the delay, some passengers at the Dwarka Sec-9 station went to the ticketing counters and sought refund of their tickets.
Rini Desai,a management student, said she had to wait for more than 45 minutes to get a Metro. “I got delayed by an hour for my classes. There was no announcement on the delay. There was a huge crowd at the station,” she said.
