Ali, who has sung for a number of Indian movies, recently came to India to perform at a concert in the famous Sankat Mochan temple in Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency in Varanasi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had earlier regretted that he was unable to attend the event due to his busy schedule and expressed his wish to be part of the ceremony in the future.
“I must share that I have heard Ghulam Ali Sahab in the past & that too in person. Also read in the papers that Ghulam Ali Sahab wished that I attend the programme. Unfortunately, this time I would not be able to do so,” Modi had tweeted, during the event earlier this month.
