Key accused in Biotor scam dies

Manek Kanga,the key accused in the Rs 240-crore scam died at the Sir Sayajirao General Hospital.

Manek Kanga,the key accused in the Rs 240-crore scam that surfaced at the US-based multinational Biotor Company’s two units in Vadodara,died at the Sir Sayajirao General Hospital on Thursday evening following a cardiac arrest. Booked under IPC sections 420 and 409,Kanga was serving term at the Vadodara Central Jail. He was rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain. Kanga was part of the scam in money was embezzled out of the units for three years. False bills were made out,audits changed and bogus permits issued during those three years,sources said.
