J-K govt ‘insensitive’ to the plight of people: PDP

Senior party leader Peerzada Mansoor Hussain alleged the NC-Congress coalition's major achievement during its first year in power is a worsening power scenario and lack of basic amenities.

Accusing the Jammu and Kashmir government of being “insensitive” towards the sufferings of the people, senior party leader Peerzada Mansoor Hussain on Thursday alleged the NC-Congress coalition’s major achievement during its first year in power is a worsening power scenario and lack of basic amenities.

“Electricity and rations have disappeared with the arrival of the NC-led coalition government and people in the state are denied even basic amenities like drinking water, kerosene, sugar and timber. People are forced to live in darkness but the Power Development Department does not shy away from sending the hapless consumers huge electricity bills,” Hussain, also an MLA,said at a public meeting in his constituency Shangus,70 km from Srinagar.
